Make a Referral to an Mental Health Association in Orange County Program

Program Referral Links

At the Mental Health Association in Orange County (MHAOC), we provide a wide range of services to support individuals and families in the community. Below are links to our programs that can directly accept referrals. If you or someone you know is in need of services, please explore the options below.

For Housing Programs, including supportive housing and Invisible Children's Project, please complete a SPOA (Single Point of Access) application or visit the Orange County Housing Resource Center for more information and assistance.

For Vocational Programs designed for individuals with disabilities, we collaborate with ACCES-VR. Please visit your local ACCES-VR Field Office to complete an application for services and get connected with MHAOC's vocational support.

  • ASSIST (Acquiring Social Skills Through Intervention, Support, and Training)
    ASSIST is designed for children ages 5-10 who are OPWDD eligible. This group, led by a Special Education Teacher, helps children develop essential social skills through structured interactions and activities. The goal is to build confidence and improve communication abilities in a safe, supportive setting. OPWDD eligibility is required, and pre-registration is necessary.

  • Blue Renaissance
    Blue Renaissance is a peer-led social skills group designed for young adults (ages 18 and older) on the Autism Spectrum. This monthly group meets at various locations chosen by its members, allowing participants to practice social skills in real-world environments, such as restaurants or parks. Facilitated by MHA staff, the program provides a supportive environment where participants can build friendships, improve self-awareness, and develop confidence in social situations. Pre-registration is required, and participation is free of charge.

  • Compeer/Compeer Homeless
    The Compeer Program connects volunteers with individuals facing mental health challenges, offering friendship and support to help combat loneliness and isolation. Our Compeer Homeless Program provides specialized services to homeless individuals, linking them to community resources and housing support.

  • CORE Services
    The CORE (Community Oriented Recovery and Empowerment) Program is for individuals who are HARP-eligible. We provide personalized services to help with recovery and independence.

  • Care Coordination 
    Our Care Coordination team provide support for individuals with complex medical and behavioral health needs. Our care managers coordinate care and connect clients to community resources.

  • Family Support
    Our Family Support Program offers resources, education, and peer support for families and caregivers of individuals with mental health challenges. We assist families in navigating services and provide emotional and practical support.

  • Friends Program
    Our Friends Program provides mentors to children who are at risk or have a parent with mental health challenges. Mentors provide companionship and support, helping youth develop confidence and social skills.

  • Hudson House Psycho-Social Club
    Hudson House offers skill-building, socialization, and support for adults with psychiatric disabilities. Join our vibrant community and participate in meaningful activities.

  • Guardianship Program (Article 17-A)
    Our Guardianship Program helps families of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities navigate the legal process of obtaining guardianship. Through Article 17-A, guardians can be appointed to manage medical, financial, and personal affairs for those unable to do so independently. This service is designed to ensure that individuals continue to receive appropriate care and support after they turn 18. A one-time fee of $300 covers 12 months of assistance, with additional support available if needed after the initial period.

  • Sexual Assault Prevention and Advocacy
    Our Sexual Assault Prevention and Advocacy program offers crisis intervention, advocacy, and support for survivors of sexual violence. We provide education, counseling, and legal support to empower survivors.

  • Social Club
    Our Social Club offers recreational and social activities for adults with mental health challenges, helping participants build relationships, develop skills, and reduce isolation.

  • Super Siblings
    Super Siblings provides support for siblings of children with developmental disabilities. The monthly group offers a non-judgmental space where siblings can express their feelings, share experiences, and connect with others who understand their unique family dynamic. The program includes creative activities, discussion, and peer support to help siblings navigate the challenges of their role. Pre-registration is required, and the program is free of charge.

  • Vet2Vet
    Our Vet2Vet program offers peer-to-peer support for veterans, helping them navigate challenges related to mental health, PTSD, and reintegration into civilian life. The program provides a supportive environment where veterans can share experiences and connect with valuable resources.

  • Welcome Orange Geriatric Initiative (WOGI)
    WOGI provides care and resources to at-risk older adults. Our Gatekeeper team will evaluate referrals and connect individuals to in-home therapy, home modifications, and more.

Employee Access, Training and Expectations -- Our organization values, ethical standards, policies and practices are committed to the protection of user information. In general, our business practices limit employee access to confidential information, and limit the use and disclosure of such information to authorized persons, processes and transactions.
  10. How Can You Access and Correct Your Information? You may request access to all your personally identifiable information that we collect online and maintain in our database by emailing us using the contact form provided to you within the site structure of our website.
  11. Do We Disclose Information to Outside Parties?
