Family Support Program

The Family Support Program provides support for families and caregivers of adults with severe and persistent mental wellness issues and children with social emotional difficulties. The staff coordinates support groups, advocacy, and educational services to families, friends and clinicians in Orange County. The Family Peer Specialists provide support to family members and loved ones through MHA direct telephone support and referrals from the Orange County Crisis Call Center DIAL 311 or 1-800-832-1200.

Monthly Support Programs

  • Family Ties - A monthly meeting that provides advocacy, educational services, community resources and support to families who have children/adolescents under age 18 with social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties. The group meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month email or phone 845-240-5415 for additional information.
  • Family and Friends Together - A monthly meeting that provides advocacy, support, lived experience, and information for families of adults with severe and persistent mental illness. The group meets the 3rd Thursday of each month. Email or phone 845-325-2899 for additional information.
  • National Alliance on Mental Illness, Orange County (NAMI Orange) – Provides support, education, community resources and advocacy for families and friends of persons with mental illness. For more information, go to
