Rape Crisis Services
Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Program
Commonly Asked Questions

Rape Crisis Services staff conduct community education and prevention programs in order to eradicate myths surrounding rape. Misconceptions are particularly frequent when dealing with acquaintance rape, incest and child sexual abuse. Presentations are provided to schools, colleges, civic and community-based organizations.

Schools and Colleges
We have several different curricula to present to students, depending on grade level.

Civic and Community-based Organizations
We discuss prevention and the actual role of the Rape Crisis Services program.  We can tailor the presentation to fit your needs.

Professional In-service Trainings
We offer in-service training for providers who come in contact with sexual assault victims.  Programs designed specifically for police departments, emergency room/medical personnel and mental health professionals are offered with the intention of increasing sensitivity to the needs and issues facing sexual assault victims and co-victims.

Literature is available, by request, to help educate the community and to address the emotional and medical issues facing victims and co-victims of sexual assault.
